If you use one tool from this entire list, make it Google Search Console’s Enhancements report. It’s free, authoritative, and tells you exactly what Google thinks of your structured data. The Enhancements section appears in the left navigation of GSC and lists every schema type Google has detected on your verified property. For each type you get a breakdown of valid items, items with warnings, and items with errors, along with the specific issues causing problems and the URLs affected.
What makes this report so valuable is the source. You’re not seeing what a third-party tool thinks of your schema. You’re seeing what Google has actually crawled and interpreted, which is the only opinion that matters for rich results. When a client asks why their product star ratings have disappeared, the Enhancements report is always my first stop. The error messages are specific enough to act on directly, and the affected URL list makes it straightforward to identify whether you’re dealing with a site-wide template issue or isolated page problems.
The limitation is that the report isn’t real-time. It reflects the most recent crawl, and depending on your crawl budget and site size that could mean data that’s several days old. For large sites with frequent changes, you’ll want to supplement it with a continuous monitoring tool like ContentKing. The Enhancements report also only covers schema types that Google actively uses for rich results, so obscure schema types won’t appear even if they’re implemented correctly. But as a foundational, free, first-line diagnostic, nothing comes close to it.
