Synup is a listing management and local marketing platform that tries to bring citation management, review monitoring, and social media posting together in a single dashboard. It covers the major directories and provides a clean interface for keeping your business information consistent across the web.
The social media posting feature is an unusual addition for a listing tool, and I can see the logic. If you’re already logging into a platform to manage your listings, being able to schedule social posts from the same place saves a login. In practice it works reasonably well, though the social tools aren’t as powerful as a dedicated platform like Buffer or Hootsuite.
What I find less compelling about Synup is the per-location pricing. At around $30 per location per month, costs escalate quickly once you’re managing multiple businesses or a franchise network. For a single location it’s manageable, but agencies stacking up locations can find it expensive compared to alternatives like BrightLocal.
The citation network is solid without being exceptional. You’ll get your data pushed to the main directories and a decent number of secondary ones, but it doesn’t quite match Yext or BrightLocal in terms of total coverage. If the social posting integration appeals to you and you’re managing a small number of locations, Synup is a reasonable choice. For larger-scale work or pure citation management, you’ll likely find better value elsewhere.
