If you’re already paying for a Semrush subscription, the Listing Management add-on is an easy way to handle local citation management without signing up for a separate platform. It’s powered by Yext data under the hood, which means you get access to a solid publisher network at a fraction of what a standalone Yext subscription would cost you.
Setting it up is straightforward. You enter your business details, and Semrush pushes them out to around 70 directories including Google, Facebook, and Apple Maps. The integration with the rest of your Semrush workflow is genuinely useful. You can monitor your local presence alongside your organic rankings, keyword data, and competitor analysis, all in one place.
That said, I’d be honest that this isn’t the best standalone citation tool. The directory network is smaller than Yext’s full offering, and compared to BrightLocal or Whitespark, the citation building features are fairly basic. It handles the big platforms well but misses the niche directories that can make a real difference in competitive local markets.
Where it shines is as a convenience tool. If managing yet another platform sounds exhausting and you’re already using Semrush every day, the Listing Management add-on removes that friction. It won’t cover every citation building need, but it covers the essentials and keeps everything in one dashboard. For agencies already deep in the Semrush ecosystem, it’s worth adding.
